Rainford ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Rainford mobile application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Full Name

  • Password (securely hashed and encrypted; we do not store plain-text passwords)

Device Permissions
To provide specific features of the App, we may request access to the following device components:

  • Camera: The app requires camera access strictly for scanning QR codes and barcodes related to product inventory. The camera processes the image frame locally on your device to extract the text/code. We do not record, store, or transmit photographs or video feeds to our servers.

Usage Data
We may also collect information that your device sends whenever you access the Service ("Usage Data"). This may include information such as your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g., IP address), device name, operating system version, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other diagnostic data.

2. Use of Data

Rainford uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service (including authenticating your login).
  • To manage your account and profile settings.
  • To track and record inventory scans associated with your specific Sub-Dealer/Technician profile.
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues.

3. Data Security

The security of your data is important to us. All communication between the app and our servers is secured using industry-standard protocols. Authentication is handled via secure JSON Web Tokens (JWT), and all passwords are cryptographically hashed using BCrypt. However, remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

4. Sharing of Data

We do not sell, trade, or rent your Personal Data to third parties. As this is an internal B2B enterprise application, data is strictly visible only to authorized system administrators. We may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation.
  • Protect and defend the rights or property of Rainford.
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service.
  • Protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public.

5. Account Deletion and Data Retention

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. If you wish to have your account deleted and your data removed from our systems, please contact your system administrator or reach out to us directly using the contact information below.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.
